As a vocal performance coach at The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, I teach musical theatre and collaborate with several schools across the UK.  I have been vocal lecturer at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts and Associated Studios in London, at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland on the classical faculty and at the junior academy. I’ve had the privilege of learning from exceptional teachers, which has greatly influenced my pedagogical approach. My journey has taken me to lead in masterclass in esteemed institutions such as Edinburgh University Opera School, St Andrews University Vocal Faculty and Theatre T’Expierement in Holland.

I trained at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (formerly RSAMD), the Royal College of Music, and The National Opera Studio in London. I have enjoyed singing roles as an international opera singer at houses including Frankfurt Oper, Berlin Staatsoper, Theatre an der Wien, Glyndebourne Festival Opera, Scottish Opera, and Welsh National Opera including many other national companies touring core and new operatic works such as Music Theatre Wales, English Touring Opera and the London Festival of American Music.

Throughout my career, I have been captivated by the versatility of the voice, exploring contemporary commercial music and musical theatre alongside classical vocal production. After specialising in opera and concert singing, I expanded my expertise with the Estill Voice Model, which  which began further teaching in London at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts taking care of voice on the Musical Theatre and Actor pathways. I was also vocal teacher at Associated Studios taking care of developing voices on the musical theatre modular courses before working on the BAMT and postgraduate musical theatre courses at the RCS where I continue to coach.

  • Currently, my focus is on artists at the pre-tertiary level aspiring to enter theatre school, newly emerging professionals, and those seeking to deepen their vocal understanding. My clientele includes professional voice users such as West End performers, commercial artists, actors, and touring casts. I specialise in cross-genre teaching, embracing classical singing, opera, musical theatre, and contemporary styles.

I am passionate about cross-pedagogy training in my studio, I prioritise creating an environment where you can thrive independently as a singer harnessing progressive practices and a sound technical understanding of your voice. Key values and experiences that guide my approach are

    • Clear Technical Understanding - understand the technical advice given, enabling you to recreate it independently in your practice. I encourage you to ask questions and seek clarification, ensuring that technical instructions are presented in a way that resonates with you.

    • A safe playful, experimental space where you explore the spectrum of vocal colours

    • Open Communication - I foster an open channel of communication and a collaborative environment so you can reliably find the best version of your vocal identity.

    • Tangible Progress - I aim to help you feel measurable progress during and between lessons, reinforcing that your goals are being met.

    • An Holistic Approach -  Recognising that we are more than just our voices, I address the holistic aspects of sound production and personal expression.

    • Vocal Health and Safety - Your vocal health is paramount. I emphasise practices that promote long careers and build vocal stamina.

By integrating these values into my teaching, I create a supportive environment where you can explore and develop your unique vocal abilities, setting the foundation for a successful and fulfilling artistic journey.
